Under the patronage of Mr. Mohamed Abdel Latif Fayad, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Damietta Chamber of Commerce, the Chamber organized a large and important conference today, bringing together leading businessmen and merchants from the governorate with a high-level Brazilian delegation to discuss ways to enhance trade between the two countries and open the promising Brazilian market to Egyptian products.

The conference was attended by prominent figures, including the Commercial Attaché of the Brazilian Embassy, ​​Maria Eduardo, the Agricultural Attaché, Rafael Mohanna, and Michael Gamal, Head of the Arab-Brazilian Chamber of Commerce office in Cairo, where mechanisms for joint cooperation were reviewed in detail.

The conference focused on two vital sectors: the timber and furniture sector and the food sector. The Brazilian delegation showcased samples of their premium timber products to Egyptian timber and furniture traders, importers, and exporters. They also presented a comprehensive overview of opportunities in the food sector, including meat, poultry, and other products.

This conference was part of the Damietta Chamber of Commerce's ongoing strategy to strengthen international trade relations and open new markets. It builds upon a series of successful efforts that have included establishing strategic partnerships, such as collaboration with Horus University, and signing agreements with fintech companies to support the furniture sector.

Attending the conference from the Damietta Chamber of Commerce were Ayman Rakha, Vice President; Samir Shata, Second Vice President; and Mr. Sha'ir, Secretary General, along with several board members: Salama El-Gohary, Mr. El-Khadry, Dr. Yasser Asal, Amr Makawy, and Tamer Abaza. Also present were Ahmed Amin, Secretary General, and Walid El-Shenawy, Director of Economic Affairs.

In his address, Mohamed Abdel Latif Fayad emphasized the Chamber's commitment to streamlining communication with the Brazilian side and providing comprehensive support to traders. Fayed explained that this conference represents a practical step towards enabling Damietta's merchants to benefit from the vast opportunities in the Brazilian market. He emphasized that the next phase will witness increased coordination and announced a series of consecutive meetings with representatives of the Arab Chamber of Commerce in Brazil, beginning Wednesday, December 24, to ensure follow-up on outcomes and the achievement of desired goals.

This conference comes at a time when the Egyptian state is making concerted efforts to boost non-traditional exports and open new markets for Egyptian products. This reflects a clear economic policy to diversify trading partners and maximize the competitiveness of local industry.

The success of this initiative is considered a strong boost to the economy of Damietta Governorate, known for its furniture and food industries. It will provide real opportunities to expand business and increase exports, which will positively impact economic growth, create new job opportunities, and raise the income level of the local community, thus achieving sustainable economic development that touches the lives of every citizen in the governorate.
