Development in Damietta Governorate

Transportation services

The plan aims to develop safe and sustainable transportation systems to improve transport services through a total of seven projects. Among the most important of these projects are:

  • Completing the fourth phase of the western breakwater at Damietta Port at a total cost of EGP 750 million.
  • Completing the construction of the 3.5 km long western breakwater at Damietta Port at a total cost of EGP 601 million.
  • Completing the deepening of the navigation channel and turning basin to 18 meters at Damietta Port at a total cost of EGP 500 million.

Housing services

The plan aims to provide decent housing through a total of 48 projects. Among the most important of these projects are:

  • The water pipeline project for Ras El Bar City and housing developments in the governorate capitals, at a total cost of EGP 235 million.
  • Upgrading two wastewater treatment plants with capacities of 50,000 and 100,000 m³/day in New Damietta City, at a total cost of EGP 64 million.
  • The water pipeline project from Kafr Suleiman Station to Ras El Bar City, at a total cost of EGP 55 million.
  • Replacement and renovation of the raw water treatment plant with a capacity of 450 m³/day and the electromechanical equipment for the first phase of a water treatment plant with a capacity of 2,000 liters/second in New Damietta, at a total cost of EGP 41 million.

Local development

The plan aims to enhance spatial and local development through a total of 32 projects. Among the most important of these projects are:

  • Completing the demolition and reconstruction of the General Directorate building at a total cost of 64 million Egyptian pounds.
  • Completing the development, landscaping, and beautification of the promenade and wall in the Al-Lisan area of ​​Ras El Bar, spanning 400 meters, at a total cost of 48 million Egyptian pounds.
  • Developing, landscaping, and beautifying the Nile Corniche from Al-Hilal Hospital to the Engineers Syndicate, a distance of 2 kilometers, at a total cost of 48 million Egyptian pounds.
  • Developing, upgrading, and rehabilitating the Damietta-Shatta road at a total cost of 47 million Egyptian pounds.
  • Completing the General Directorate's garage and an alternative garage for the Damietta City and District Local Unit at a total cost of 33 million Egyptian pounds.

Health field

The plan aims to provide high-quality healthcare services through 14 projects, the most important of which are:

  • Construction of the Farskor Central Hospital at a total cost of 120 million Egyptian pounds.
  • Development and equipping of the Plasma Collection Center at a total cost of 68 million Egyptian pounds.
  • Completion of the development and equipping of the Damietta Oncology Hospital at a total cost of 23 million Egyptian pounds.
  • Development of the Damietta Heart Hospital at a total cost of 21 million Egyptian pounds.

Pre-university education

The plan aims to improve the education system by developing pre-university education services and establishing and upgrading 414 classrooms across 13 projects. Key projects include:

  • Constructing and equipping classrooms in distinguished schools at a total cost of 120 million Egyptian pounds.
  • Rehabilitating existing schools at a total cost of 100 million Egyptian pounds.
  • Renovating and upgrading primary schools at a total cost of 72 million Egyptian pounds.
  • Constructing and equipping classrooms in primary schools at a total cost of 65 million Egyptian pounds.
  • Rehabilitating and equipping public schools at a total cost of 20 million Egyptian pounds.
